Awwwwwe... Painting! I hardly ever paint. And I like oil based stuff cause it's much easier to work with. But this is one of the only acrylic paintings I've ever done, and I haven't posted anything for a while, and I wanted it up on the net so I could show someone from anime club what I keep talking about with it cause he hasn't seen it, so I figured why not just post it up? Sorta like the animated Tugamati syndrome! But less cool. Meh. Maybe I just need to sit down and draw something decent rather then play the Sims in my free time, ne?
This was done for a school project. We were to draw a cube monochromatically (one color plus black and white to tone). I didn't feel like painting a cube. Who cares about a picture of a cube? I wasn't going to spend time I had available for art on something I wasn't ever going to look at again! (That changed later in the semester when other classes starting assigning work though, nyah. ) So I did this. It's like... 14" x 17" and took like four hours or something. And it was acrylic, so I couldn't leave it to do anything, else it was dry by the time I came back. Eeeeevil acrylics! Though there is something to be said about quick dry. But the guide art only took like five minutes to sketch on! Grr! Four hours... so long...
I chose to do Caterpie because... well, I think Caterpie is awesome. This is my take on the lil'guy! Blue Caterpie. Because it had to be 'one color' anyway. This probably would've looked a lot better if I'd saved it as a larger file over all, but... I don't have it at the moment, so I can't rescan it anyhow, LOL. Hope you guys get all nostalgic and stuff about the ol Red & Blue (& Green). Po-Ké-Mon!?
